Illios is bringing the Helium network to Latin America and is the first institutional-backed company in the region. Helium is an IoT network (LoRaWan) built on blockchain, that allows anyone to install a hotspot and become a “mini tower of data transmission”. As a reward, the person receives the native tokens of the network (HNT). Helium is currently working to also provide a 5G network soon. The company has a huge potential to disrupt the telecom industry, given that its infrastructure can be built much faster and cheaper.
